This glossary defines the terms LeadGuard uses to describe pathways, checks, evidence and outcomes. Each term has a stable anchor so guides and feature pages can link directly to a definition.

These definitions describe how LeadGuard uses each term. Some are common industry terms and are noted where our usage narrows or extends them.

Lead pathway
A specific route on a website that a visitor uses to become an enquiry: a contact or quote form, a click-to-call or email link, a booking link, a checkout action, or a CTA that leads to one of those.
Protected pathway
A lead pathway a LeadGuard account has explicitly chosen to monitor. Pathway checks, alerts and confirmation state apply to protected pathways.
Canonical pathway
The stable identity LeadGuard assigns to a pathway across scans, so that a form which reappears after a temporary hiccup is treated as the same pathway rather than a new one.

Source page
The URL on the customer's site where a pathway lives. LeadGuard checks that the source page loads before it evaluates any pathway on it.
Destination
The URL or action a pathway sends the visitor to after interaction: a form endpoint, a booking system, a tel: or mailto: target, or the next step in a checkout.
See also: outcome source
Outcome source
A URL or on-page indicator that proves a submission or interaction succeeded, for example a thank-you page or a learned inline success message.
Confirmation page
A URL loaded after a successful submission, commonly called a thank-you page. LeadGuard connects confirmation pages to their originating pathways so outcomes can be attributed.

Inline success message
A success indicator rendered on the same page after submission, without a URL change. LeadGuard learns these indicators from real visitor behaviour rather than by submitting test data.

Pathway monitoring
Continuous checking of a protected pathway across six families of technical health, combined with passive evidence from real visitors.
Form monitoring
The subset of pathway monitoring that applies to submission forms: source-page load, form presence, visibility, destination behaviour and outcome verification.
CTA monitoring
The subset of pathway monitoring that applies to click-driven pathways such as booking buttons, phone links and email links, where visibility and destination reachability matter more than form fields.
Conversion verification
The process of proving that a submission or interaction reached a real success state, using confirmation pages, learned inline messages and downstream indicators, rather than treating a submit click as automatic success.
Pathway view
A recorded event indicating a real visitor loaded a source page containing a protected pathway.
Pathway interaction
A recorded event indicating a real visitor engaged with a protected pathway, for example focusing a form field, opening a booking link or tapping a call button.
Confirmed conversion
A recorded outcome event supported by an outcome source, such as landing on a linked confirmation page or triggering a learned inline success message.
Form start
The first meaningful engagement with a form, such as focusing a field or selecting a control.
Form abandonment
An analytical inference: a visitor started a form but did not reach a confirmed outcome within the observation window. LeadGuard does not record the values typed into fields.

Synthetic monitoring
Automated checks performed by monitoring software rather than by real visitors. LeadGuard uses safe synthetic checks that do not submit forms, place calls or complete bookings.
Real user monitoring
Evidence gathered from real visitors, such as pathway views, interactions and confirmed outcomes. LeadGuard uses real user monitoring for anything a synthetic check cannot safely verify.
Monitoring confidence
A per-pathway indicator that combines active check coverage and passive real-visitor evidence into a plain-language rating: Good, Fair, Limited or Pending.
Critical alert
An alert that a protected pathway is failing in a way that is likely to prevent enquiries. Delivery depends on the account's plan and alert policy.
Pathway recovery
The recorded transition of a pathway from a failing state back to a healthy state, based on subsequent successful checks and, where available, real visitor evidence.
